The blade is very sharp and flexible so it follows contours easily and doesn't "get stuck" or miss spots with larger spots (e.g. carrots). I found it tidy and clean. I've tried carrots, potatoes, cucumbers, and sweet potatoes and it's been fine, but the design of this particular type of peeler seems more awkward with shorter veggies (like potatoes). I think one reason for this is the longer handle. I have another vegetable peeler with a shorter handle and wide dual blade that works better on white potatoes. I loved it for carrots, however, as it separated into a long, clean strip from the outside. It's also easy to clean (and I hand wash) and skin doesn't get caught between the blades, which are slightly wider than similar knives. My only gripe with this is the eye remover, which is plastic and I didn't find it particularly effective. I wish the handle was a little shorter, but it feels comfortable, is thicker, and has more material than cheap cleaners.
