I have been using Cashel masks for years and after buying this Derby Originals mask I will never buy Cashel again. and "warm blooded" sizes for Cashel, but this derby mask sits right in between those two and fits absolutely perfectly! The mesh is soft and the velcro is more secure than the cashel. The eye roll allows the mask to protrude much further than Cashel's so I never have to worry about the mask getting on his delicate eye area. This mask is said to offer slightly more UV protection than the cough masks, which is important to me as my horse is white with pink skin and is very sensitive to UV rays. However, the best thing about this mask is how reliable it is. his face. My mini donkey has a game where he sees how fast he can spot horses. Cashel's was about five minutes. This amazing mask lasts over 12 hours! The only criticism I have of this mask is the lack of a lock hole. I made my own with scissors but it would be nice to have one right out of the box. My boy has a TON of forelocks so a hole for him is an absolute must. If you're in between sizes or tired of paying close to $40 for a Cashel mask, or need more UV protection, or want a mask that really lasts all day, TRY THIS MASK!
