They are perfect for replacing 13 year old originals in a 2005 Dodge Caravan. You must use the original washer and lock washer as they do not come with these parts. This will allow you to open the hatch a little higher so that the second bolt fits in the hole in the door. Do the same with the other side and you're done. These jacks now "open" my hatch - once you start opening the hatch, push it quickly and hold it open. However, it now requires more force to close the hatch, but that's a compromise. I would go with a sunroof that doesn't stay open in cold weather.
