Review on Sena SPH10 Bluetooth Stereo Headset / Intercom for Outdoor Sports - Black by Jason Graham

Summary: I thought they were perfect for docking a boat. I really wish they would work and with less than 4 lanes they would probably be great. I liked that you can hear both the intercom and background noise. It was comfortable for the short time we tried to use them. Very finicky and unreliable in 4-way mode. We brought them back and we're back to portable radios and good old screams. Pairing: It wasn't easy for 4-way to understand. Most sequences resulted in less than 4 band and/or very loud clicks with some headsets. I've never had a problem pairing two or even adding a third (although we haven't done extensive testing), but adding a fourth has always caused problems. 4-Way Pairing: This is the sequence that has worked best for me - 1) involves 2 sets. One in the left hand, one in the right. 2) Press both buttons to start pairing (according to the instructions). 3) Press the button on the left remote control and wait for the pairing to complete. 4) Set aside the left set, move the right set to the left hand. 5) Turn on the 3rd headset, put it in your right hand and repeat steps 2, 3, 4. 6) Repeat 5 for the 4th headset. Pairing *should* be complete. Some headsets may be disabled and you need to press their button to enable/connect them. Then things got even worse: After pairing in 4-way mode, one or more headsets switched off after just a few minutes. Re-pairing a dropped headset with another (random) headset resulted in very loud clicks for some headsets. After a few minutes, two devices turned off due to low battery. We charged them overnight and the devices only lasted 15 minutes. Returns: Even if we could solve the click and battery issue, things should be easy and reliable once you get close to the marina. I liked the product but it never worked properly in 4-way mode for more than a few minutes and I lost all confidence in its reliability in 4-way mode.
