I have now purchased several backup cameras, one for my wife's car, one for my boat trailer and one for my RV. Reviews of many other cameras that talked about freezing or deleting pictures. Running a large system requires THIS VOLTAGE. Installation was relatively easy as there was no cable to run between the camera and the monitor. Note, however, that you need to power the camera. The camera is designed to attach to one of the screws that hold your license plate in place. So it makes sense to power your license plate lights, but to do that you need to have your car's lights on. It actually gives you the option to turn the camera on and off with your car's light switch, so this might work for many. If you want, you can route the wire to the car's fuse box. The monitor comes with a very high quality suction cup mount for windshield, dashboard or center console. I installed mine on the center console and you can see the performance in the video I've attached to this review. I'm very happy with this camera system, it's really well built and works exceptionally well.
