Review on Vortex Optics 10x36 Solo Monocular - Boost Your Online Visibility by David Epps

Fell apart on day one

I really wanted to like it. I spent hours exploring all the options before settling on the Vortex Solo monocular. Just received the item today and enjoyed it from our balcony on the beach. Then the disadvantages appeared. Cons: 1. The rubber eyecup came off on the first day of gentle use (at home and on the porch).2. The case is a poorly made Chinese Koozie, not a durable one (contrary even to the instruction manual which shows a good carrying case). The cons are enough to make me return this item and avoid further purchases from Vortex. .Things that are almost cons: a) no eyepiece cover (which has become more of an issue due to a poor body) and b) no focus at long range. Pros: Excellent review quality. I mean great. Again, I really wanted to like it, but if it falls apart with careful use at home, then enough is said. UPDATE: On the second day, the focus wheel stopped working. Now it takes a lot of power to turn. UPDATE: The above issues have been fixed with a little know-how. Quality viewer, but also problems.
