I used it to replace a new FiOS WiFi6 gateway router and the difference is amazing if you're looking for a comparison. During setup, do not do anything that might disrupt your Bluetooth connection during the process (e.g. answer a call with AirPods connected) and wait about half an hour for the router and host to update firmware and during setup have synchronized. It took about that long for both to stop flashing either blue or green and eventually turning white and both showing up on the app. Setup wise, I have a Verizon FiOS with a newer ONT that looks like a standard modem in my house. . Other than their latest router, I've been very happy with FiOS and have no intention of changing. To set it up, I first logged on to the old router and set the defaults. Then I disabled DHCP and disconnected. The Asus system told me everything else, including disconnecting the ONT (modem), connecting the ethernet cable from the ONT to the ASUS router, and reconnecting the ONT. IP addresses will change, so just make a note of the old defaults and remove them from anything directly connected via an IP address. To access your new router's settings, go to router.asus.com in a web browser or use the app. Different functionality in both.
