First of all, people need to understand that when ordering binoculars online, especially in this range, you run the risk of getting a bad pair. Between the factory and delivery to your door, there is a chance that the pair you receive WILL NOT BE COLLIMIZED. This means you will see a duplicate image and will never get a merged focused image. In other words, they will be useless. If you read the reviews, this is the main complaint people have and they conclude that the binoculars "just suck". However, the amount of bad seems to outweigh the amount of good people have received. And Revain is really good at returns and exchanges, so just waste your time and convenience by returning them if they are not collimated. after i said it As my primary use is for stargazing I have already bought a SkyMaster 15x70 which is also a great pair for the price. However, due to their size for manual use, they can be difficult to use. I'm doing pretty well, but my wife definitely had it harder, so I took a chance with them. Having tried collimation with SkyMasters and being a pessimist, I didn't expect to get lucky twice in a row. But they also arrived in collimation and focused well. After facilitating this, the second thing I noticed was how much easier they were to hold and how much better and more stable the picture was. Using it at night was just as easy. Because of their size and lower magnification, I found it much easier to focus on subjects than with the SkyMasters. My wife also found them MUCH easier to use. The image isn't as close and bright, but for handheld use, the smaller stability wins. Although I was able to see Jupiter and its moons 'well' longer with this 10x50s, I still switched to 15x70 for a 'better' but shorter view. This wouldn't be a problem with a good solid tripod and a larger tripod would benefit (see what I did there?). Like the Skymasters, they had a flimsy, thin soft case, cheap carrying strap, lens caps, and a tiny microfiber cloth. Unlike the Skymasters, it didn't come with a tripod adapter, which isn't a big deal as most will be using them handheld, and the tripod adapter that the Skymaster came with really sucks anyway. It appears to be a well-built pair of binoculars, but that means nothing if a strong enough hit knocks them out of collimation. With that in mind, I removed the flimsy pouches for both binoculars and placed them in the Plano Protector Four Pistol cases. Maybe it's too much, but I felt better. In general, $20-$30 binoculars are really good.
