Review on ๐Ÿšด Enhance Your Cycling Experience with the M-Wave Trailer Hitch Adapter by David Dortch

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Works - but expect a bit of grinding to fit your bike

I rated this product 3 stars. I bought two. Bought a trailer. Then two towbars or more as a towbar came with a trailer. A coupling for the rear axles of both bicycles. In both cases, it's a cast piece of metal that looks like an "aftermarket" version of the original, meaning it's obvious the original company manufactured precision parts. Because the one that came with the trailer was made with precision. It's likely that the original company went out of business / made other things so the aftermarket company accepted the contract to continue production but paid to make it cheaper and this shows up as another problem . However, both are solid metal. Very strong and securely holds the bike trailer; However, expect to have to grind the outer perimeter of this hitch's axle bolt hole to "fit" a full range of bike models on the rear axle bike frame. I expect some people will buy this and find that it doesn't fit or perform as advertised on their bike when even a relatively small amount of finishing touches/spec at the factory would have prevented it. Still 3 stars and worth buying. Just expect that in some cases, like mine, there are both cases where it doesn't fit properly. The eyelet is drilled correctly and fits the axle bolt; but on any bike without about 20min. Sanding the outer perimeter to make it "fit" as many bikes are now tubular and reinforced with a round insert at the axle bolt. If your bike has a "flat" metal frame that the axle mounts to, this part will work great with no grinding.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Has issues
