Review on Retevis RT22 Walkie Talkies: Rechargeable Hands-Free 2-Way Radios (6 Pack) with Multi-Gang Charger - Stay Connected Anywhere! by Kurt Manning

I experienced that

these are good radios for the price, here is my experience with them. One of the slots on the charger was not working. Retevis suggested I could send the charger back and they would replace it and refund the return postage cost or if I choose to use a separate charger they would refund my 10.00. For the planned use of these radios, I opted for the separate charging option. They promptly refunded me 10.00, one of the radios didn't transmit, the PTT switch on the radio didn't work, again I could return a radio as a spare if I wanted, but I wanted to use them with external mics. So I waited to test the radio with an external microphone. The radio works perfectly with an external microphone. I bought a programming cable so I can turn on the alarm function. I had a small problem with Windows when trying to install the USB driver, but it's more a Windows problem than the programming cable. If the programming cable is not reading the radio, you may need to go into Device Manager, find the device with the USB/serial cable and change the COM port that the cable is reading/writing from. Retevis answered all my questions quickly. and sure. There were a few bumps but they've been ironed out and I'll be buying 23 more radios soon to complete the team. Oh, one thing I must stress, the "alert" you mention is not a translation error. it's not a "Hi everyone, please note I'm going to say something important," it's more of an "OH MY GOD I'M LOOKING FOR BLOOD, CALL AMBULANCE!" This alarm is very loud, very annoying and the switch means you hold down the button to turn it on and it stays on until the button is pressed again to turn it off. Luckily, it's not ready out of the box and has to be programmed to turn it on, or half my staff wasn't allowed to touch the radios.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • nothing here
