Based on other reviews I chose 2 sizes for my son. It was a bad idea. He is a little 6 year old. Usually wears size 6/S, sometimes XS. So I made it big. He has such a big one. He's a little mad about it, but obviously he's dealing with it. Better than too small. I would say take your normal sized kids. Possibly a size one if you want it to be a little big for the height. But in my opinion, a normal size will do. It also has enough stretch if your arms and shoulders are an issue. Still very cute and a great jacket for spring and fall. It washes well, there are no cracks on the skin.
