Almost perfect but you get what you pay for

Update - just noticed that the base rotates freely when you actually mount it on a tripod and there is no way to stop it from rocking prevent because the lock rotation does not work I do not work. Nothing good. Still works well as a standalone mount on a table or if your tripod head has a non-slip rubber pad. ------------- This little flexible head is actually surprisingly good for the price. The aluminum parts are well finished and all joints feel very smooth and nice. However, mine was assembled in reverse order. A screw is also missing. The rubber feet on the bottom sit too low to be useful - you can twist them out a little but then they dangle and rattle. The oil pan retaining screw on mine does absolutely nothing no matter how hard you tighten it - it doesn't lock. It also sits too high when trying to use your head on a table without a tripod. The included adapter from 3/8" to 1/4" is also too proud of the bottom. So if you mount it on a 1/4"-20 tripod you won't get a stable mount as the actual bottom aluminum surface doesn't touch. However, I removed the levers and rotated them 180 degrees, replaced the missing screw, removed the pan lock thumbscrew and probably added extra felt or rubber bumpers on top of the existing ones which are too short and now I have a really good feeling, a well built device for less than half the price of the big brand it copies.
