I was a little hesitant because other reviewers said you can't tear off 1 sheet when the roll is smaller. We have replaced 3 large rolls of paper towels (we buy large rolls) since I bought these. I never tell my husband anything, he just uses things. Neither of us noticed that we couldn't just rip off a paper towel. I don't know if it's because we don't care or because you can. All I know is that we have suffered (GELIDEN) from many holders who would have fallen had they not been filled with a new role. We can't hang on the wall where it is. So we're stuck in counter style. We were so excited. I took a risk because of the weighted floor. PERFECT. We never had that prompt. We don't think about our owner anymore. Works like it SHOULD. And so I can't tell if you can tear off 1 sheet when the roll goes down. If I pay attention, I'll update it. But I doubt I'll pay attention to that. Because for the first time in YEARS I have an AMAZING paper towel holder! Fits well into our interior, very high-quality workmanship, weighted on the floor. PERFECT in my eyes!
