Review on 6FT Pasow FireWire 800 to 400 Cable (9-pin to 6-pin) - IEEE 1394 Firewire 800, 6 Feet Length by Amanda Stevenson

As a collector of Macs that Apple considers "old fashioned" or "obsolete", I can say that this very inexpensive cable does the Service experience with my PowerBook G4 and a 27" iMac, both of which are the main reason I bought the cable. The second reason - a used LaCie D2 Quadra case with lots of ports including FireWire 800 - struck me a few days after I had already ordered the cable. After taking the cable out of the box and connecting it to the above computers and hard drive, the drive responded almost immediately. Copying 14GB of data took 5-10 minutes, while with FireWire 400 it took 15 Took up to 20 minutes and over an hour with USB.With the target disk mode enabled.By holding "T" while turning on my Mac e, I can quickly and easily back up my PowerBook or transfer data without opening the PowerBook lid and damaging anything. All in all a very good cheap cable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs a FireWire 800 cable but doesn't already have one or needs a replacement.
