Review on πŸš€ Enhanced Hitachi MAF0047 Mass Air Flow Sensor for Improved Performance by Larry Boyd

My problem solved!: Sensors

For weeks I have been struggling with idle problems with my 2000 Impala. Eventually the check engine light came on and I was able to get a low signal P0102 MAF code using my scanner. First I tried cleaning it with a DMRV cleaner, it didn't help. Then I tried a really cheap one from a big auction house but it didn't idle. The car will not start without pressing the gas pedal. So I ordered it from a large car dealership, since it is priced somewhere between cheap and expensive (obsolete!). I installed it and knew right away that it worked. I cleaned up the code and took it for a test drive. It works great and all other parameters like fuel trim are back to normal. I don't know if it's new or renovated. Interestingly, the aluminum throttle body is directly marked Hitachi. This one is made in Japan, not the cheap one that doesn't list the country of origin. I think I can trust Hitachi.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • No instructions
