This is not a continuity tester, just a live tester.

This is not a continuity tester, just a live circuit tester. The description says "self-powered" which is what you need to test for continuity (delivers power from the onboard battery to the wire through the probe, and if you have a clamp somewhere that has power connected, a light will come on, telling you that the circuit is continuous). I've always wondered why nobody combines voltage and current testers in the same tool, and I figured this would do it. As a voltage tester, it's high quality and well made, it's just distortion
