Vinyl awning with ribbed hem. Wash the area with APC and then with denatured alcohol. Allow to dry, then apply the tape. The tape is difficult to remove from the roll. Installed it in place and applied a few coats to make it thick enough to sew and hold the tear. Before I finished the repair, it started peeling off. We will see. When touched, it sticks like crazy everywhere except the canopy. Addendum: Difficult to pull off. The tape is very tacky on the back, but it just won't stick to the vinyl.
