I had a cheap version from another vendor, but my new PC had two mini display ports, so I decided to add a second monitor with an adapter. I was impatient and the next day Star Tech was available so I paid the extra money. I didn't realize that the refresh rate and clarity could be affected by an A to B adapter. I actually swapped monitors as I figured one of the two wasn't as good as the other. Wow. adapter important. I ordered a second one and gave a colleague a cheap one.
