I added a second monitor to my Macbook Air

After trying so many different adapters to add a second monitor to my Macbook Air this Startech adapter finally did it works for me! I should have bought that first. Please note that 2 separate adapters must be used to connect to the MacBook Air. Connecting 2 inputs to it will not work.

DO NOT BUY FOR SURFACE PRO 4 DOCK

DO NOT BUY FOR SURFACE PRO 4 DOCK Set up 4 different Surface Pro 4 and order one for each dock. This thing is great for travel and works fine when attached to the Surface Pro 4 itself, but will NOT work with the Surface Pro 4 Dock. For the dock you need to buy what is called an "active" adapter.

You will not regret the purchase!

Works great with my computer without a VGA port for high to low resolution conversion. I do a lot of presentations with it, and even where the projector has HDMI, often only VGA is available because of ceiling mounts or something. Great quality, reliable, good price and much smaller than some other converters I've seen. And the cable's length is especially useful for setups with multiple peripherals. Highly recommended!

Star Tech never disappoints

I had a cheap version from another vendor, but my new PC had two mini display ports, so I decided to add a second monitor with an adapter. I was impatient and the next day Star Tech was available so I paid the extra money. I didn't realize that the refresh rate and clarity could be affected by an A to B adapter. I actually swapped monitors as I figured one of the two wasn't as good as the other. Wow. adapter important. I ordered a second one and gave a colleague a cheap one.

Fewer things in your pocket. Good price. Reliability is in question.

I use a Microsoft Surface tablet, there were two different video converters in the bag. Switching to this converter means less stuff in my pocket. Works great so far and at a good price. I've only used StarTech's HDMI converter, which stopped working after a few months. It's hard to say if quality issues will be present with all StartTech items, but in my experience you can expect these items to have a shorter lifespan than you would like.
