There were no instructions to help me understand what was going on. My best guess was that the narrow end goes through the fan and the long end helps you pull it through the case. This rubber is very hard and I broke two trying to get through them. I put them in hot water for a few minutes to soften them up a bit and that helped a bit. This should help remove the fan from the case and reduce vibration as well as simplify installation. got one of two. Installation was difficult for the first fan. Should have read about it first or watched a video about it or something. Well, everything worked out in the end Review I order stuff with my own money that I earn with my work and time.
