At the recommendation of a mechanic friend of mine, I threw one of these into my 1999 Silverado 1500 (202,000 miles and still running). My non-scientific testing showed pickup at 1 MPG. Not that bad. When it comes time for a new air filter for my wife's Tahoe, I'll buy a K&N. I can also claim to be helping save the planet by no longer throwing used filters in the trash. You can't put a price on such smug complacency.
