Update (about 3 months later): I was recently contacted by a company who saw my less than positive review below. They offered me a full refund and a new toaster. Definitely 5+ star customer service! I would buy a product from this company again at any time. Meanwhile the toaster is alive and the color makes me smile! I had to put a plate for the crumbs. To avoid burning, I toast on the lowest setting, then turn the bread over and toast again. It works well! I've also used reheat and defrost a few times and both settings are very functional and enjoyable. I still don't think this is a great toaster. But for the price and personal use, I'm happy with it. Bought this to replace a toaster that was having "problems" with white bread and bagels! He is very yellow and very cute. But I don't have high hopes for longevity. The crumb tray doesn't seem to fit well as there are always crumbs under the toaster. Not good in Florida where ants and palmettes roam free. The slots are not as wide and will burn any pieces of bread that touch the back of the grill. I left the setting on one or two and at least the bread didn't burn. The warm up feature is pretty cool and seems to work pretty well. I know I should probably return it and buy a higher quality toaster. But I'm too lazy and the color will definitely brighten up the kitchen, so I won't!
