Great video quality a little inconvenience

PROS: - very good video quality and most importantly for 49.99 (I paid 69.99) - there is a magnetic cover (that's a dust magnet, no pun intended so I would keep the cover in a clean place when not in use) - USB cable approx 3 1/2 to 4 feet VS: - Light makes a difference but it doesn't illuminate anything further than 8-10 inches very well. I still had to use the main light for my meetings to get decent picture quality, and I'm sitting about a foot and a half from the monitor where it's cropped. - The clip is fiddly and I would have preferred to have a different clip to swap out for one that acts more like a traditional clamp than a tripod mount. - The field of view is approximately 120 degrees and cannot be changed unless your specific video conferencing software or operating system supports zoom. This is honestly something that can be fixed with software and I wish they had a companion app to set the default field of view. - The autofocus is very finicky, any movement can cause it to refocus from a certain distance (I'm a foot and a half). To be fair, my phone does the same at a certain distance (Samsung Galaxy S9+). Conclusion: Overall I am happy with my purchase and would recommend it, especially for $50, I would be very skeptical at the $70 new price. Even though the cons seem to outweigh the pros, what makes this webcam like a pro is by far the most important factor in all webcams and that is the video quality. So if you're planning on plugging this in instead of your laptop's webcam, ignore my cons as most of them don't apply. Otherwise, depending on your settings, you might need to tweak some settings in the software to get a better field of view, and you'll need some sort of light source (I just have the lamp without the shade and it works really well).
