Review on Park Tool Accessory Collar Work by Adam Price

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not for PCS-1 or PRS-5

I have to rate this collar very poorly I have a PCS-1 I call it a Sacrifice Stand because it's my cheapest stand I use it for all my outdoor repair tech. Also, this is my oldest stand and I just don't have the nerve to sell or scrap it. I've modified it over the years and replaced the clip with the newer version installed on the PCS-4. This is not a seller rating, but a product rating. The seller did a great job and simply copied and pasted the company description. It doesn't fit on any of my stands and is a waste of money. I've played the return game on Amazon before and while it may be the seller's fault, the buyer still has to pay for the return. I've been telling people for years how much better old coasters are than new ones, and this article proves it. Both my PCS1 and PRS-5 portable stands are much larger in diameter, but my PRS15 is a different beast. So the PCS-4, PCS-9, and PCS-10 are either pathetic little stands, or this collar has serious manufacturing quality assurance issues. This collar says PCS-1 but it will not match PCS-1 unless something is changed. I'm very disappointed when someone doesn't change their mind. I rate this item 1 star. If you email them, the company says it's a new 1996 PCS-1 entry with an extension. Summary, if you have one of the stands listed, better write to the company and make sure it fits. The inner diameter of the collar is too small for the PCS-1 PRS-5 and doesn't even come close to matching the PRS-2 PRS-3 PRS-13 of other racks I own. Come with that collar, oh wait some other racks already have one built in. After reviewing this article, I got it working on my pre-1996 PRS-3 rack, which uses a single tube. The single tube is 1.51 inches in diameter and I was able to grind it down to work. It was a long and painful process, not what I planned it for, which is my PCS-1 preamp. He is actually working on post pcs-1. 1996 later version with extension but not without support. I was also able to get it to work on my 1.64" PRS-6 and PRS-12. This is not Revain or the seller, it is the manufacturer of Park Tools.
