I used a small hand drill to drill small rods onto the main rod. It was easy to assemble. Removing the plastic from the perches took longer than the assembly itself. My Corell was afraid of this at first, but after a day he started using it every day. I made sure I drilled the perches in the order of the stairs so he can climb the next perch more easily. The center post is quite long so make sure it fits in your cage as it hangs low. 2 large metal washers (1 outside and 1 inside). This ensures a snug fit and that it won't fall through the wire of the cage. I tightened it up and it's very stable. I have had no issues with this product and my parrot enjoys the extra perches!
