The battery cover no longer detaches.
I bought this because I kept slamming the remote on the floor which made the battery cover pop off and batteries were flying everywhere. This prevents the cover from coming off and also prevents scratches on the back of the remote control. I like the elastic band and accompanying strap. Didn't really need two but what was provided and it was cheap.
