Dropped in 20 minutes with just a bar of soap

I installed this EXACTLY as advertised on a smooth shower tile. I chose a spot well away from the shower spray (even sheltering it under a small tiled shelf). The shower was completely dry. Cleaned entire area with rubbing alcohol - cleaned a much larger area than when used just to be extra safe. Install all 4 strips/hangers and press/hold each as instructed including removing cart, then waiting 24 hours (slightly longer) and taking 1 shower, all as instructed. I then placed the cart back on the suspension rails as instructed. I then placed a plastic soap dish in the basket with a frequently used bar of Dove soap. (Decades of experience has told me to experiment with something small first.) After about 20 minutes, a horrible rumble almost gave my husband a heart attack. I went into the bathroom and saw that the trolley had fallen onto the items on the shower bench below, scattering everything around. 1 hanger/control rod was fully detached and lying on the floor (not attached to the wall or cart) and the other 3 were hanging/twisted/partially - mostly off the wall. I checked the strip which was completely torn off and there was almost no trace of glue on the strip and there was no tack at all on the tile where it came from. I can't even reinstall to try again because there are no extra stripes. I don't see how he's supposed to hold shampoo bottles when he can't even handle a few grams of soap. I just wanted to keep the soap! I was hoping to fit 2 different rods in it but it couldn't even hold one. I strongly suspect it would fall off even without a bar of soap. Now it's $10 worth of junk, but I also need to remove the strips that didn't fully come off. Haven't tried that yet.

Pros
  • Bathtub
Cons
  • Weak Set
