Review on πŸ₯ Lekue Macaron Kit: DecoMax Pen and Baking Sheet Combo by Susan Walsh

Avoid this kit! Mat, terrible handle

Terrible set. Do yourself a favor and buy the World Market Kit. It's 1/3 the price and the carpet is better. side by side, same batch of noodles: Mat: Lecue - almost half of the noodles stuck to the mat. even completely cooled, it was a task to remove them completely. In most cases, the shell would separate from the top, leaving the rest of the ring on the mat. The macarons were cooked properly, they just seemed to separate on the ring between the top and bottom halves. World Market - Noodles very easy to remove, a light patina on the edge and a slight twisting motion removed all but one that broke like 1/2 LekuesDecomax Pen: Lekue - Abyss! The pen doesn't have a #12 nib, so use a much smaller nib and watch half the mix slosh out of a supposedly well-closed top, or go nibless and end up with the opposite flow control problem. . Use piping bags, they're a lot easier to use! The mixture didn't become too runny and didn't thicken, it was exactly as it should be (slow draining/dripping out of a spatula) World market - not used, one pen was enough for this adventure. Although it couldn't be worse. Why did I give 2 stars? I'll try again and I won't give it a star unless it's completely mangled or useless. The recipe book came in handy for a few ideas, but it wasn't what I expected from a $40 set. A rug and pen at the world market will set you back thirteen bucks, for the rest buy a few pounds of almond flour and a fantastic book Les Petit Macarons with a fantastic A++ rating http://www.amazon.com/gp/ product/ 0762442581/ link=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_34
