Review on 🖥 ASUS 970 Pro Gaming/Aura ATX AM3+ AMD 970 + SB 950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 Motherboard by Robert Pierce

This is a great mobo, unfortunately not the one I received. To be clear I bought this board through the Revain Warehouse as they usually have the product I need at a much cheaper price. So I placed my order, time passed and yesterday I received the mobo. Joy! The box was clearly marked as ASUS M5A97 R2.0. but upon opening the box, the motherboard inside was clearly ASUS M5A97 *LE* 2.0. So what's the difference? Well, there are a few things to note, the most obvious of which is that the LE version of this board DOES NOT have a USB 3.0 port for the front of your PC. It also doesn't have 6 audio I/O ports (there are only 3) on the back. So apparently someone didn't notice when this motherboard was repackaged and found to be salable. ashamed! Now for the good news: I don't currently use USB 3.0 on the front, so that's fine; The board supports my processor (FX-4350), RAM (8GB GSkill RAM, purchased elsewhere) and all expansion cards, and it supports all versions of WinDoze OS from XP and up, as well as Linux. A note on installing the operating system. A: You MUST go into the BIOS and disable "Secure Boot" and change it to "Other OS" before attempting to install any OS prior to Win 8. I'm using Win 7 x64 so I had to take this step. a professional musician with a PC based home studio, this motherboard has given me the best bang for my buck so far and yes I can still play like a big dog if I want to so it's good for that too. But a word to the wise, if you are thinking of purchasing this mobo from Revain stock, be VERY careful and don't be surprised if the mobo on the box is not the mobo inside. Everything worked for me. but for someone else it might not be. For this reason and because of the blatant repackaging error, I give the product 2 stars. Otherwise he would have gotten a 5 from me.
