I really liked SMARTSTANDARD products so I chose them even after seeing others not so positive reviews for this product. This latch seems pretty solid, but as others have said, the 1" center screw is missing, so I don't feel like turning the latch properly. Or maybe it's just less aesthetic so I just don't feel like it's too durable. The company only offers pan head screws so this is a disappointment as it doesn't live up to what is advertised. I'm also having the same problem as others of having to make alterations because my barn door is a greater distance from my door rail than the latch. In order for this to work, I need to change my doors, my walls, or both. Maybe just throw them in the trash and look for another product. It might be an interesting solution for me to buy two more sets and then stack them to get the height I want. I'm just not sure what it's going to look like or if I want to throw away more money.
