Review on Celestron TrailSeeker ED 8x42 Binoculars: Compact for Birdwatching & Outdoor Activities with ED Objective Lenses & Fully Multi-coated Optics by Christina Waltemeyer

I bought the 10x32 version and was very impressed with the 'clarity' of the binoculars. I have several pairs of mid-range Steiners, so I use them as bases. I think the Stiners are damn good binoculars for the price. You get what you pay for and you buy reliable equipment. My Stiner 10X32 binoculars cost about the same as these Celestrons, but the Celestron are sharper. Heck, they're sharper than my 10x42 Stiner and I'm not sure the light collection from the big tubes is that much better than the 32mm Celestrons. Based on the performance for the price, I choose the Celestron. Not everything is perfect. The dust caps fall off easily, so always make sure they are still connected. Don't leave without checking if they are still connected. The neck strap seems to slip out of the "buckle" after a week or two, so I started tying the top knot after putting it through the buckle. I don't know how durable these binoculars are and I don't know if they can withstand such abuse. like my Steiners, but these Celestron binoculars are my go-to for "below midrange" clarity. If you're in the market, that's great. I give them 5 stars.
