Review on ๐Ÿ”ฅ Daystar Universal Firewall Boot KU20040BK - Single, Fits 3/8" to 1" Wire Bundles, Made in America, Black by James Edwards

Revainrating 4 out of 5

To update! Good for some thin wires, not so good for 1/0 AWG and larger

I bought this product to run 1/0 wire through my Chevy NBS firewall and the point is you are running a LEGAL power cord with lots of stranded 1/0 wires can if you cut it off first 2 nipples to finish things again. but that's it, the picture really doesn't tell you very well how small or big it is (its DEFF is on the smaller side). To me it's more for people who want to catch the 24-12 AWG wire through the firewall. With this little cable you can put 15 to 20 small wires through it, but you won't be sending more than 1 1/0 wire and maybe as many as 8 up to 10 wires 12 AWG. So the product is good for its intended purpose but not what I need so I'll probably be returning it along with the Scosche WPG0-10 firewall boots, you get 10 in a $10 pack and they are waterproof too . The price could also be cheaper, I mean it's a piece of rubber, but $16 wasn't the deciding factor for me. I'll show a picture later with 1/0 next to it. The update is I went to the Lowes store and used a flush water hose adapter which is about $5 and it's the same damn thing and you can buy it at Lowes or Home Depot today, for me it's 15 U.S. dollars for a piece of rubber absurd.

Pros
  • Protects wires from sharp edges; prevents chafing and shorting of wires
Cons
  • Skimpy Manual
