Review on Eve Energy - Smart Plug & Power Meter with built-in schedules, voice control & Bluetooth Low Energy (Apple HomeKit) - No bridge required by Justin Zilinskas

After I bought my new 5th Gen Apple TV, I bought several of these Elgato Energy Ever Wi-Fi outlets to add Elgato Energy Eve features like detecting when you come home to devices like Turn on lights to use. The problem is that it's the second one that can't keep the wifi connection. I wake up in the morning and find a light that has never gone out because the outlet has failed. I tried doing a power reset but that temporarily fixed the problem for a few minutes. The Eve app says the outlet is 'unavailable', with a bad triangle icon next to the device. The HomeKit app shows the exit error as "no response". I am getting a replacement from Revain as I only bought this a few days ago. I just hope the replacement works. There are many features I like about this Elgato Energy device, like the ability to share automations with my family, assign names to lights so I can ask Siri to turn something on or off. I expect a $40+ WiFi switch to work stably. Compared to similar Wi-Fi apps/devices (like Wemo), the "EVE" app lacks continuity and usability. The last EVE switch I bought failed again last night. It turned on at the allotted time, but this morning it kept going, lost that feeling of love again and gave me a "failure" warning in the Homekit app.
