This is a really bright LED light. Actually I ordered ASIN: B00CXJR1CQ 12V DC Converter Step Down Power Module 3.7V 3a and connected directly to the door switch so now I don't need to change AAA batteries in this light and it turns on anytime. the time the door is open. My wife feels much safer driving my '98 Jeep (top down) if the overhead light is on before she gets in. simply with a few simple touches 1) the power converter connects to the light socket under the driver's dashboard 2) the power converter output cable connects and goes through the roll bar 3) the cable from the roll bar (yes I drilled a tiny hole to pass the wire) is attached to the light The positive and negative metal tabs inside the battery compartment 4) closed the battery cover, tied it in place, and you're done. The whole thing was under $15 for a really nice door controlled skylight.
