Review on Condar Dutchwest Stove Catalytic Probe Thermometer (3-194) - Accurate Temperature Monitoring for Optimal Performance by Jennifer Miller

Paint peels off instantly

When we first used this thermometer the paint was chipping and peeling! This made the thermometer reading almost unreadable! We've left enough traces to judge the temperature of our converter. We bought it in mid-September (it's March now) so at least it's still working (we've actually had other brands of MELT) but it's definitely hard to read. There are incised lines to show the temperature markings, but the numbers are drawn in color. We can still see the highest and lowest temperatures on ours, so we can count the divisions when we need to know the exact temperatures. If we couldn't see the coldest temperatures, it would be a real challenge to start the wood stove and decide when to open the converter. It was very cheap and it's not difficult to understand why, but it's enough for us to use it.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
