Review on 🍵 Luminarc 13-Ounce Nordic Mug Set of 4 - Clear Glass - Pack of 1 for Versatile Use by Ryan Foles

These are heavy beautiful glass mugs said to be made of tempered glass for hot drinks. These are the same mugs the Cheesecake Factory uses for coffee and tea. Unfortunately, within a week of receiving it, one mug broke when being filled with coffee from a Keurig coffee maker. The crack was top to bottom and halfway through the base. The coffee spilled but luckily the cup didn't fall apart and I managed to pour the hot coffee down the sink before throwing the cup away. I'm not sure if that was an accident; My guess is that if the Cheesecake Factory uses them in all of their restaurants, they need to be safe and durable. I will try to update later. UPDATE: 07/14/14: The second cup is torn along the vertical seam opposite the handle. I bought two sets of 4 and had to throw them all away. Despite the intended use of the product, it is too dangerous to use them for hot drinks. I've noticed that mine say they're made in the US, not China, but not France, where they were traditionally made. I have several large Arc International glass mugs made in France that have lasted many years and have never cracked. They are also sold at Revain and are cheaper than these but in a different look and size.
