I bought this with low expectations, especially given that our entire area is flooded and the service from Comcast has been spotty at best. I plugged it in and instantly my cable/voice modem was able to restore all 8 downlinks and my power levels and signal/noise were back in range. My network tuners can be tuned again and the signal quality is almost 100%. Comcast X1 boxes still work. Life is great after a long time when Comcast told me everything is fine but everything is working somewhat. Every time Comcast came out, they replaced the splitter and measured its quality. Now it really works.
