Buy this tank to replace your Wave faucet

If you have an existing Wave style faucet (see photo) with a faulty tank, you can use this tank (with a cheaper faucet) as a replacement Discard the new faucet. (BOOOO Insinkerator, for not throwing away the faucet and not selling the tank separately.) The tank has three hose connections identical to the old one, with the same hole pattern for the wall mounting screws (see the old block next to the new block on the Photo). , next to the Wave tap). The hoses under the sink can be changed manually. But before I replaced the tank, I've had five of these tanks (four out of service, only one still under warranty) over the last 18 years and I've disassembled and repaired them. Some of them. If your tank is just leaking, separate the two plastic halves, remove the styrofoam insulation and see if there is a leak where the two halves of the metal tank bolt together. If you unscrew the two metal halves of the tank, you will see that the old rubber O-ring has cracked and hardened from the heat. (BOOO Insinkerator because you don't sell a replacement O-ring!). You can guess the o-ring size and order a standard replacement, or you can apply silicone between the halves and screw them back together. Maybe it will stop flowing. If your faucet is spewing air and spouting heavily (even if you unplug it and run cold water, so it can't be steam) then you can't fix the problem, but you can fix it. Inside the plastic outer shell is a small plastic reservoir that catches the overflow as the water in the reservoir expands and catches the excess water when you turn off the faucet so it doesn't spill out momentarily. This tank has a rubber mounted floating ball valve. The rubber seat deteriorates after a few years from 200 degree hot water, so the float ball valve no longer stops air. So it sucks in air after the reservoir is empty and spits air out. This cannot be fixed as the rubber valve seat is in a glued plastic spill tank (BOOO Insinkerator for placing the rubber part in a tank boiling up to 200 degrees where it cannot be replaced!). You can fix this air spitting problem (make sure it spits out cold water first!) by simply blocking off the third, smallest hose so it can't suck in air. But now your faucet drips about 1/4 cup of hot water every time it heats up again, and when you turn it off, hot water continues to flow out for a few seconds. I have a love/hate relationship with this product. . I use them three times a day to make French Press coffee at 190 degrees. It's an important part of my morning. But WHY does the Insinkerator keep putting in parts that fail after 3 years in 200 degree hot water? For every part repaired with a redesign, another piece of soft rubber is inserted into the system, which (SURPRISE) fails after three to four years. (He shakes his head and sighs.)
