It has a downside for filtering oil

It looks solid and the vent channel in the spout is a great idea for narrow bottles. The cone can be slightly larger for use in oil production. Nylon webbing is great for filtering COLD oil. Nylon will shrink at or above 140 degrees Fahrenheit. I'm sure this will greatly extend the life of the frying oil. With a bit of ingenuity, it looks like the nylon mesh could be removed and replaced with muslin fabric. That should satisfy the idiots who insist on pouring hot oil through the plastic. However, the funnel has a design flaw for filtering thicker liquids like oil. The cone, where it meets the spout, has a flat surface. Some oil just settles there and never runs off. I will keep this funnel as it is well made and the oil recovered and reused will far outweigh the oil lost.
