Review on 🔊 Flush Mount 2nd Gen by Mount Genie - Wall/Ceiling Built-in Speaker Mount with Included Wiring (1-pack) by Lauren Walton

I've been following this product for a long time and clicked on it last week. I'm very glad I did. My particular room couldn't easily place the Echo Dot where I wanted it, so I decided to mount it on the ceiling. This product worked absolutely perfectly. I have an old 1950's house that has thick wood paneling for the ceiling and I was still able to install it with very little effort (used a jigsaw to cut the hole although a hole saw would have been ideal). It worked so well that honestly I could have gotten away with some sort of 3m construction glue/glue (the stuff you use to glue concrete, wood, plastic, etc) since Dot has enough pressure on it once installed wearing the disguise. Walls he's forced to fit perfectly into the hole he's resting in in the ceiling. However, I did add a small bead of glue to the inside edge of the bracket just to give it a bit of peace of mind. The Dot sits so well in the mount that I saw no reason to use the small 3m adhesive strip that comes with the kit to hold the Dot in place. The only thing I had to do, which most people wouldn't have to do with drywall, was remove the plastic tabs that need to be inserted into the drywall to hold it in place. It just wouldn't work with the ones used in my particular application, so I just cut them off with a utility knife. I would 100% recommend this product to anyone who wants their Dot flush mounted. It looks great and works exactly as advertised. I would also like to point out that I DO NOT HEAR the mute from my point. It works just as well as everyone else in my house and I can hear Alexa perfectly.
