Review on 🚽 Fluidmaster 400CRP14 Toilet Fill Valve and Flapper Repair Kit: Easy Install for 2-Inch Flush Valves by Kenny Shaver

The best inflation valve ever!

First, Revane has a misconception about it. 400CR is a newer version with a screw float height adjuster. Always while the 400C can be the old (rod and clamp adjusters) or the new version because Fluidmaster went back to just using the 400C for some time after revising the design. I knew this when I ordered, but for those of you interested, here it is. I've had both the old and new, and I personally prefer the newer design, but installers don't seem to care. Both work exactly the same. This is by far the best design, easiest to install and set up, and a reliable inflation valve. I've installed it in every one of my toilets over the years. It fills up quickly, is fairly quiet and doesn't clog pipes. I ended up having to replace one (the old design) due to repeated problems. Anyway, I've had it in my closet for at least 10 years! It started to flow at first, which was easily fixed by flushing the plug, but then the water stopped flowing into the filler tube. The clog was in the fill valve under the cap and wouldn't hold up when flushed, so I decided to replace it. Their exchange takes only a few minutes and the costs are low. The valve supplied is of good quality but I have not used it. It can be mounted on round or square stuffing tubes equipped with dampers. (Filling horn stand ring not included. Looks like the picture of the black part of the hatch is wrong too. It doesn't have a filling horn ring. It only hooks open.) My one toilet has a hatch with a timing cup on top and it's own flush seat insert , to which it is attached (555CRP8, also made by Fluidmaster, 555C is the latest version) as the fill tube is too far from the drain and the valve has a standard offset, ie. this one has, it is not properly centered and sealed. The other toilet still has a solid gray toilet with a jagged plastic "chain" which I also installed separately a few years ago. If they ain't broke I won't replace them! Flaps are the tricky part. Also, Fluidmaster has great instructions for DIYers like me, both in the box and on their website, including troubleshooting instructions. First class professional company. Highly recommended.
