Finally no more leaking toilets and annoying buzzing

What a great relief to finally have no more leaking toilets in the house. Installation took about 20 minutes including removing the old valve system. The most important thing to remember is that you have teflon tape to seal the water line. Make sure the float mechanism has enough play to move up and down smoothly. I would recommend simply testing the system before putting everything back together.

Will not stop working

I bought two of these valves and installed them with no problems. One of them did not stop working as a trickle of water continued to flow after the valve was supposed to be fully closed. It looks like the water was being pumped from the reservoir into the bowl as the water in the reservoir was slowly sinking and the valve would open the water every 3-5 minutes to make up for the water loss. I called a plumber to fix whatever the problem was. The plumber replaced the valve with one of his own…

Leaked but I figured out the issue. You can also!

It took about 6 months for the valve to start leaking, I checked that the damper was seated correctly. Then he exchanged it anyway. I tried checking, cleaning and flushing the valve seat as shown in the video. No help. Slow but steady flow through 1/8" plastic fill tube. Then I discovered this: When the length of plastic fill tube enters the pipe below the full water level, a siphon effect is created, causing the water to flow slowly through the fill tube, giving the appearance of a leaking…

It works most of the time but the valve occasionally sticks

Bought to replace the fill valve that leaked into the tank. Our house was built 11 years ago and we have lived here for 9 years. This replacement was easy to install and seems to fill the tank reasonably well and shut off the flow properly. Although I have complaints about this. There is a filter at the top of the inflation valve that prevents small dirt particles from entering through the valve. The problem I've had (three times already) is that when those tiny bits of dirt are caught by the…

Retrofit ball valves well and save water!

We replaced a bathroom valve with a similar model from Fluidmaster a few years ago and it still works great. Our other toilet started leaking due to a rubber valve, so this time we decided to upgrade that toilet with this model. Installation took about half an hour and my son said it was easy. I always keep a large water bottle on the back to save water, but this setting allows you to automatically adjust the water level to save water without having to do this. I had no problem with the one in…

An easy and affordable do-it-yourself solution to a leaking or noisy toilet

I bought this Fluidmaster toilet flush valve kit to replace the original flush valve that came with my toilet (14 years old ) was delivered. I used to replace the damper several times, but this time the entire inflation valve shot through (noisy, leaking and working). My water bill was about $5 higher than usual so this new fill valve will pay for itself in less than 2 months! Installation was very easy; only takes about 15 minutes. The included instructions are easy to follow; No tools are…

The best inflation valve ever!

First, Revane has a misconception about it. 400CR is a newer version with a screw float height adjuster. Always while the 400C can be the old (rod and clamp adjusters) or the new version because Fluidmaster went back to just using the 400C for some time after revising the design. I knew this when I ordered, but for those of you interested, here it is. I've had both the old and new, and I personally prefer the newer design, but installers don't seem to care. Both work exactly the same. This is…

Quick Easy and Simple

I bought this to fix a leaking toilet. After playing around with the original components for an hour, I decided to bite the bullet and swap out the parts. Before you go any further, you should know that the MOST thing I did to the toilet was remove the lid and wiggle the chain until it "clicked". So until this week, I knew very little about repairing or replacing toilet cistern parts. When I opened the package, I immediately went to the instructions. I REALLY didn't want to screw it up and…
