Every time I empty it, it literally swarms with tons of little bugs, which then fly out and jump. I stood and watched as the moths and other small bugs landed on the spools and only slightly burned and bounced off them. must be unscrewed to be cleaned with a "suitable brush" which is not included. It is not powerful enough to kill moths, small (skinny) bugs and other insects that are easily killed by other insecticides. Oh, and now when I look at the box it just says "mosquito killer" - not what it says here on the product page. Pretty frustrating now that everything is covered in burned mosquito sized bugs and I guess I can't trade it for one that actually kills bugs instead of just killing them and leaving tons of them alive in a tiny shallow cup, which you have to empty manually. .At least it attracts them? But I wanted an "insect killer" that would kill insects (not just mosquitoes). Also remember that it "covers" an area of 35 square feet. Think about how small it is i.e. a rectangle measuring 10 feet by 3.5 feet. The box is less than 6 feet by 6 feet.
