I recently decided to replace the battery in my iPhone SE 2017 Edition as it cannot be used for more than ten minutes. I first tried replacing the battery and it didn't work at all. I then tore it apart again and separated the glass from the digitizer, which I thought was defective. It wasn't glued on like in the video showing how to replace a broken screen. This also explains why I had problems with the touchscreen on my iPhone since I bought it directly from Apple. I ordered a new battery and full screen assembly and this home button. After getting the details, I read that you MUST use the home button that comes with your iPhone or the fingerprint option will no longer work properly. I've changed all my passwords to the suggested ones Apple recommends when saving. It would be hell to remember them and enter them manually. The home button that comes with the iPhone is digitally connected to the motherboard of this product. So I see no reason to buy this item unless you need to take parts from it e.g. B. a seal. However, you can also buy it separately. The original home button has a circuit board, but this one doesn't. They somehow transmit a signal to the motherboard. Therefore, if you decide to replace the battery, be extremely careful not to damage this connection or tape. I've finally replaced my screen and battery without damaging my native home button, and it's no easy feat. It took me two days to assemble the phone. Disassembling is pretty easy, but assembling is very difficult. Everything is very small, and I spent several hours replacing the necessary screw that helps hold the home button ribbon in place. In the end I decided to put it aside and try it the next day. I got the little clip back in place on the first try, but getting the shield leads back into the slots is a lot harder than pulling them out. I finally installed them properly and then connected the battery. These connections seem to be returning to their place. You then need to mount the screws and shields to keep the connections from loosening. The final part is attaching the home button ribbon in place. It's not very difficult, but the clip that holds it in place makes it very difficult to attach properly. I spent a lot of time on the floor looking for screws and clamps. Extreme care must also be taken when inserting the battery. Too high and the screen won't snap back into place as there are parts that need room to fit back into the case. Too low or too close to the edge and the home button ribbon clip will not reattach. If the battery is too far from the edge, the screen will not want to return to its place. After reassembling it, I charged it. I turned it on and all I could see on the Apple screen was a white Apple logo. I waited and nothing else happened. I took it off the charging station and pressed the home button. The unlock screen appeared and is now working properly. I'm still not very impressed with the quality of the battery I chose as it's better than my old one, but it still doesn't seem to last as long as I expected. I was just trying to get my iPhone fixed as I didn't want to buy a new one and risk catching Covid at the AT&T store. I surprised myself as I don't have the patience for things that are extremely annoying and I usually throw them in the trash. Videos that show you how to do it make the process easier. However, these are likely people who have taken apart several of these phones. In short, if you need fingerprint recognition and the ability to enter a password using a fingerprint, this cable doesn't offer that feature. This is a security issue that Apple implemented to protect customers and their information about their products. Luckily I didn't damage the home button ribbon. The screen I ordered required me to move the home button from my original to a new screen assembly. If you damage the home button band when you remove it, you can buy a new phone. I'm having similar issues with my iPad Pro and my battery won't charge for a very long time. I've been thinking about buying a battery for it, as well as replacing the battery. Having watched a video of how it's done, I don't mind being battery powered as both devices are nearing the end of their lives. You will not get iOS 15 update. So I will wait until I have to replace both items.
