I just checked and saw some negative reviews. I'm a little surprised. I bought this 3 years ago as a Christmas present for my wife. She vacuums several times a week. She usually uses our large hose, but for quick cleaning she uses this one. It's lightweight and easy to use. I never use our larger hose. I cut my hair every two weeks and always use this hose. In my opinion, this does not replace a normal hose. This is a quick and handy tool when you don't want to pull out a large, bulky hose. I don't know why anyone heard a squeak. Can this be related to the suction power of the device? We have a very powerful vacuum cleaner suitable for a house with more than 4000 people. Ours with this hose doesn't squeak. This hose has a switch that can be opened to release a small amount of vacuum. Not sure of the purpose, this might help if you have noise. This hose is much smaller and easier to handle than our regular hose. I highly recommend it as a quick cleaning tool.
