I use this on my monitor which has a USB port in the base on my desktop. I use it with a 6" extension cord to ensure it doesn't get nicked or ripped off and damage the hub or port. I connected keyboard, mouse and webcam and everything works. None of them are USB 3.0, so I didn't get a chance to test the USB 3.0 port speed. It's also just a very cute accessory, when I saw it I just wanted it because it looks so neat. It's the size of a flash drive, so it's very convenient to take with you on the go. It can be easily stowed in a laptop bag or even a laptop sleeve without adding bulk.
