Review on Bosch HTCTCP Carbide Tipped Hole Pilot: Precision Drilling Made Easy by David Monaco

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Concrete/wall drill bit for use with the Bosch hole saw system.

I am very satisfied with the Bosch hole saw quick change system. I purchased a BOSCH PCMSDSPL SDS Plus Bi-Metal Hole Saw Shank to use with a Bosch 11224VSRC SDS rotary hammer to cut holes in the exterior plaster, CMU retaining wall and concrete foundation walls of my house. Inexplicably, Bosch decided to include a pilot hole saw intended for wood with an SDS mandrel, apparently intended primarily for cutting concrete. An adapter (or one of the similar kits) is needed to adapt most common non-Bosch bits (in my case the usual standard brands like Ridgid, Lenox and Vermont American). Each saw requires an AN02 adapter so it was more economical for me to buy a full Bosch HB25M set of 25 bi-metal hole saws and then add larger bits as well as AN02 adapters as needed. .Change between different center drills easily and without tools. They are held in the mandrel with a ball lock system, so only pull hard enough to get the bit out. In the same way, you push hard and the racquet locks into place. So easy, I don't even have to remove the hole saw! A hell of a lot better than fumbling with set screws on typical threaded hole saw arbors. I easily rate this entire Bosch system 5 stars ("I love it"). I only wish this attachment was included with the SDS mandrels instead of being purchased separately.
