This hat has a soft lining with a short pile inside which is sewn to the outer knit, both very soft, non-itching. The sound quality is decent, if not very loud, and if you turn it on, people around you can hear it. It took me a minute to figure out how to remove the speakers and I can tell you I don't have a very good feeling about removing them. There is a hole in the hat where the seam of the lining is not fully sewn. This is where you need to carefully slide the speakers from the side of the hat where they normally sit, into the center of the hat and through this small opening without breaking the very thin wire connecting the two speakers. This is a tight fit. I don't know about the battery life as I only charged it and listened to it to see if it worked like it should be a Christmas present. However, they arrived without a charging cable (I used my own to charge) and there was no retail packaging, just in an open zip bag in a Revain box. Disappointing!
