Review on HighFree Professional Leather Aluminium Cutting by Kim Sanchez

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Real aluminum! at least. It's almost cool.

Mech. not useless. But not working out of the box. I have an hour or two to refine and craft the parts to get this thing working well. It needs a little sanding to level it to keep it from wobbling, the blade mount needs a little drilling to make it sit flush with the ground. The fence needs to be extended to keep the skin from wiggling when you pull it all the way through. As the fence is too short and the strip reaches its end, it begins to tilt sideways resulting in the end cut not being straight, if that makes sense. Once I've completed the necessary work and modifications it should do what it's supposed to do. Overall, it's better than a ruler and knife (arguably), worse than the regular strip cutter that Tandy offers (of course). I like the idea of mounting it on a large stand or table. For the price, yes. General. you have the idea Good concept, loses a lot. All parts were included, design and manufacturing issues. But these days you can't expect to buy something from Big C and not have to improve it in some way. Or just throw it away. Or back. This thing is barely out of bounds. I guess that's why I was able to get it "used like new". I envision some of these pieces being plucked out to make my own in the future and would be nice to have on hand when the time comes.

Pros
  • Fixed: You can use a set of C-clamps (2 C-clamps included) to mount this device on the side of the desk. There are also 3 mounting holes on the bottom plate, you can also find 3 screws to fix it on the table.
