Nice rug but had - and still has - a very strong chemical smell. I left it outside for three days and the smell was still strong. Sprinkle with a box of baking soda and leave it out for another day and the smell is just as strong. I then sprayed it with Thieves Oil, which helped a bit. Not thrilled that my family, including dogs, inhales pesticides. You also need a non-slip surface. Very slippery on hardwood floors. UPDATE: Aside from taking this ridiculous rug to a professional, I've tried EVERYTHING to get rid of the strong chemical smell to no avail. Even left it in the snow, ice and sun for a few weeks. Used Oxy Clean, several organic odor neutralizers and essential oils and sports soap and the damn thing still smells like a chemistry lab. It's too late to return. Hubby says it's time to go and no synthetic mats!
